Read and Rise Family Reading Night

Scholastic and the University of Phoenix are working together to bring us the first of two Book Fairs. The first fair, Tuesday October 2nd, comes with some additional opportunities:

• There will be a community meal (pizza) beginning at 5pm.
• There is a short presentation on helping your child love and participate in reading beginning at 5:30pm.
• While parents are at the presentation, children will be making a book that they can take home with them.
• All families that attend the informational session will receive a $5 gift certificate toward the purchase of a book at the fair.
• If you can't make the meal and presentation, please come to the book fair which will be open from 6-7pm..
• By hosting this fair, Sandburg school receives extra volunteers/ tutors during the day and a higher percentage of proceeds than if they were to host just one fair.

Noche Familiar de Lectura y Recaudación de Fondos

Scholastic y la Universidad de Phoenix están colaborando juntos para traernos la primera de dos Ferias del Libro.  La primera feria será el 2 de Octubre, y viene con las siguientes oportunidades:

•  Habrá una cena comunal (pizza) empezando a las 5pm.
• Luego habrá una corta presentación sobre como ayudar a sus hijos a amar la lectura y participar leyendo, empezando a las 5:30pm.
• Mientras los padres están en esta presentación, los niños estarán en un taller en el que van a crear un libro para llevar a casa al final.
• Las familias que asistan a esta sesión informal, recibirán un certificado de $5 para que compren un libro en la feria.
• Si no puede acompañarnos a esta presentación, acompáñenos en la feria, que estará abierta de 6 a 7pm.
• Por ser anfitriones de esta feria, la Escuela Sandburg va a recibir voluntarios y tutores durante el día y un porcentaje mayor de ganancias del que normalmente dejaría ser anfitriones de sólo una feria.
